"God can use our weaknesses."

"God can use our weaknesses"

Some years ago a missionary in Ethiopia challenged a group of believing tribesmen to share Christ with the villages around them. A man, lame in both legs, felt God’s calling to share Christ with an unreached tribe of violent warriors. No one could believe it when he expressed his desire. They all looked at him and questioned, “How could he possibly make the trip with both legs lame?”

“I will get to the tribe by using my arms to drag my body.” He explained to the group. No one believed him because it seemed so impossible, but he felt God’s call strongly and left in the night without telling anyone. A whole year passed with no word from him. Everyone assumed that he must have died.

Then, one day they received an amazing report! This lame man had almost died from his grueling trip, but when he reached the tribe they saw he was crippled and took him in. They nurtured him back to health. This tribe’s custom was to show great respect to those who were crippled because years before a crippled man had saved their village. They listened carefully to his message, and many came to know Christ as their Savior. This lame man’s weakness was what God used.

God can use our weakness, and God will use our weaknesses if we will let Him. Paul realized that when he wrote 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (KJV) "9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."

I encourage you today. Let God use your weakness because God can!
