"Under the Shadow of the Almighty"

Sometimes you run across a passage of Scripture that gives so much comfort and peace exactly when you need it. Psalm 91 is one of those wonderful psalms of promise. Verse one gives the whole thesis of the passage. Everything revolves around this general statement, "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”. In other words, “If you dwell in the place that God has put you, then God will protect you”.

The rest of the passage supports this thesis by telling how we are protected. We are shielded by His wings, safeguarded by His angels, saved by His presence, and satisfied by His provisions.

The person who dwells or who has settled and is staying in the shelter or hiding place where the Most High has hidden him will continue to abide under the shade of His defense.

God can protect, provide for us if we stay under His watch care. He will supply our needs as long as we choose to live under the Shadow of the Almighty. It is a choice. We do not have to live in fear. We can choose to live in faith. Even when we do not know it or see it, God has His protecting forces, His presence, and His angels watching over us.

We can live a satisfied life under the shadow of the Almighty because we know that God has provided for us in the past, and He will continue to provide for us in the future. It is a matter of choice. Choose to trust Him. Choose to abide in Him. I encourage you to choose to live a victorious life contented in Him through faith. Choose to dwell under the shadow of the Almighty.
